Uncle Scoopy's Fun House (scoopy.net) is the internet's first and best  daily e-zine dedicated to filmed nudity.

Uncle Scoopy's Movie House (scoopy.com) is a totally free site which features thousands of movie reviews.

It focuses on new cinema releases and new DVD releases, with a special emphasis on the nudity and the DVD features.

The Scoopy sites report that these are the female performances in 2003 which met both of the following criteria:

(1) It was nominated for an academy award for best actress or best supporting actress. (2) It included nudity.

The performances are listed in descending order of exposure, with full frontal nudity listed ahead of topless nudity.

The topless nudity scenes are ranked from best to worst by the length and clarity of the exposure.

Best Actress nominees

Diane Keaton, nominated for Something's Gotta Give, full-frontal nudity.

Diane was 57 when she stripped nekkid for the big laugh in Something's Gotta Give. A less courageous actress might have insisted on a head-and-shoulders shot, but Diane did the right thing to make the scene work, and also to generate some profitable buzz about the film.

Miss Keaton did previous screen nudity nearly three decades ago in Looking for Mr Goodbar.

Naomi Watts, nominated for 21 Grams, topless nudity.

Naomi's spectacular nipples provided the only reasons to smile in this depressing non-linear film that one critic described as "a movie that wallows so profoundly in its own misery that watching it is like atoning for some sin you didn't commit."

Miss Watts has done previous screen nudity in Gross Misconduct, Mulholland Drive, and The Outsider.

Charlize Theron, nominated for Monster, topless nudity.

The normally glamorous South African underwent an astounding metamorphosis in order to create the proper appearance to play "America's first female serial killer", Aileen Wuornos, who was executed in 2002 after 12 years on Florida's death row.

In addition to the most complete natural physical transformation since DeNiro in Raging Bull (Theron gained 30 pounds of flab), the actress also disguised her face under make-up, and replicated the mannerisms and  swagger of Wuornos to such a degree that there was no longer any of the beautiful Theron visible in the character.

Roger Ebert wrote, "This is one of the greatest performances in the history of the cinema."

Theron has also done screen nudity in 2 Days in the Valley, The Devil's Advocate, The Cider House Rules, Reindeer Games, and The Yards, plus very brief exposure in Sweet November.

Samantha Morton, nominated as best actress for "In America", brief topless nudity.

In America is rated PG-13, and the nudity is brief and dark, but it is there, so there was some nudity from four of the five performances nominated for Best Actress in 2003.

This marks the sixth film in which Morton has done nudity. The others: Band of Gold, Cracker, Under the Skin, Jesus' Son, and Morvern Callar,

Best Supporting Actress nominees

Holly Hunter, nominated for Thirteen, frontal nudity.

This film, a neo-realistic look at teen life which was actually co-written by a young teenager, marks the seventh time Hunter has done some nudity in a film, following The Piano, Crash, Living Out Loud, Jesus' Son, Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, and Harlan County War.

Patricia Clarkson, nominated for Pieces of April, topless nudity or body double.

I don't know if this is really Miss Clarkson. It is her head, and some bare breasts, but it is simply a photograph in an album, and there is no way to determine whether Clarkson actually posed for it. Perhaps not. Before 2003, she had done only some oblique topless nudity in Wendigo,
