Play-mates of the Apes (2002) from Tuna
Play-mates of the Apes (2002) is, obviously, a spoof on Planet of the Apes from Seduction cinema, featuring Misty Mondae, Anoushka, Sharon Engert, and Darian Caine, all of whom show everything. Perhaps the full script from the first 20 minutes is the best way to explain this offering.

Scene 1

Interior of spaceship. Anoushka and Sharon Engert wake up, and do girl-girl.

NOTE: no dialogue because Anoushka barely speaks English.

Engert pushes wrong button, ship spins out of control, and Mondae wakes up.

Scene 2

Cut to ship crashing in lake. Mondae, Anoushka and Engert emerge in bee-keepers outfits. They find stream, and strip. They do girl-girl while someone steals bee-keepers outfits. All three are captured by apes.

Scene 3

Monday and Caine are in cage together. Do girl-girl.

Scene 4

Mondae, Anoushka and Engert are on stage in ape strip club. Consensus is that humans have no soul because they are unable to dance. The three strip and try to prove them wrong.

And so goes the film. It is nearly 90 minutes of girl-girl action, interspersed with short interludes of satire. Debbie Rochon plays an ape doctor who believes apes are descended from humans, and keeps her fur on the entire film, but tries to put the make on Mondae. The ape make-up was rather impressive, and there were a VERY few moments of humorous silliness. All in all, it is nearly non-stop mild lesbian sex among 4 women, the cute Mondae, and the robo-hootered Engert, Anoushka and Caine.

 In addition, there are nearly endless out-takes, interviews, behind the scenes, etc, adding up to more than 2.5 hours of clearly lit nudity.

My own guideline: A means the movie is so good it will appeal to you even if you hate the genre. B means the movie is not good enough to win you over if you hate the genre, but is good enough to do so if you have an open mind about this type of film. C means it will only appeal to genre addicts, and has no crossover appeal. D means you'll hate it even if you like the genre. E means that you'll hate it even if you love the genre. F means that the film is not only unappealing across-the-board, but technically inept as well.

Based on this description, this film is a C+. For what it is, it is well made, and delivers the exposure.
