Uncle Scoopy's Fun House (scoopy.net) is a daily internet e-zine dedicated to keeping its readers abreast  of the latest in celebrity nudity.

Uncle Scoopy's Movie House is a totally free site which features hundreds of movie reviews, focusing on new cinema releases and new DVD releases. The reviews summarize the films and the major reviews, with a special emphasis on the nudity and extra DVD features.

In June, 2002, Uncle Scoopy's Fun House ran a members poll to select the most realistic sex scenes of all time in mainstream movies.

The voting was open to theatrical films, TV films, cable films, made-for-video movies, and foreign films.

Softcore and hardcore sex films were not eligible, however, nor were any types of films where the sex scenes were the primary purpose of the movie

These were the top fifteen choices, as chosen by the voters, not the author.

15. Emma Thompson and Jeff Goldblum in "The Tall Guy"

This is the only scene on the list played for laughs, and probably is the funniest hot sex scene ever filmed. Thompson and Goldblum get carried away to the level where they break a room full of furniture when they make beautiful music together - and I mean that literally, because they make love atop a piano as well.

14. Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas in "Original Sin"

This scene should probably be rated higher. The disappointing 14th place finish is probably attributable to two things. First, the hottest scenes aren't in the PG-13 theatrical version. Second, sales were less than brisk on the naughtier DVD version, because the movie was a critical failure.

13. Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland in "Don't Look Now"

A groundbreaker. The people who saw the uncut scene or pictures from it were shocked. It has become somewhat more commonplace now, but back in the 1970's, when this came out, it was a first to see two major stars  engaging in cunnilingus on screen.

12. Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas in "Desperado"

This scene may not be that realistic, but it involves Salma Hayek very naked, and that has to be a good thing.

This marks Banderas's second appearance on the list.

11. Carre Otis and Mickey Rourke in "Wild Orchid"

Otis and Rourke fell in love for real during the filming.

So were they really doing the deed on camera? They both say no. They do admit that coming so close without ever actually doing it aroused them so much that they went back to the hotel several nights and made love all night.

10. Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball"

There may be better sex scenes on this list, but none of them won the Best Actress Oscar for the female participant.

People who saw this scene in the film festivals, pre-MPAA, say it may have been the best sex scene ever.

9. Laetitia Casta and Joaquin Cortes in "Gitano"

Bad movie. Obscure movie. Does it matter?

Casta was declared the world's most beautiful woman when still in her mid teens, donated her figure to "Marianne", the official symbol of the French republic, has some of the greatest breasts in history, and is willing to do both photographic nudity and screen sex without hesitation.

8. Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon in "Bound"

This is real sex, in the sense that nothing is hidden. In a slow, lingering circle around the bed, the camera stops to focus in on their breasts rubbing each other, or on Tilly's hand in Gershon's crotch, while Gershon moves her hips in an enthusiastic rhythm.

7. Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke in "9 1/2 Weeks"

Often imitated, never duplicated. Who can forget Basinger receiving cunnilingus in a shadowy alley in a rainstorm?

For Rourke, this marks his second appearance on the list, tying Banderas for the erotic crown.

6. Kerry Fox in and Mark Rylance in "Intimacy"

The picture is self-explanatory. Miss Fox surpassed the previous record holder, Maruschka Detmers, as the most familiar actress ever to sip from the Slurpee straw of love on camera in a mainstream film.

Rylance took time out from his theatrical career to re-enter the film world in this role. Tough duty, eh?

5. Kathleen Turner and William Hurt in "Body Heat"

The sexy dialogue in this film represented a throwback to the Stanwyck/McMurray noir heyday in the 40's, when the femme fatale always found a patsy for her schemes.

But they never had sex scenes like this in the forties.

4. Denise Richards, Matt Dillon, and Neve Campbell  in "Wild Things"

Campbell didn't make much of a contribution, and the voters may be in error in their assessment that this scene is realistic. On the other hand, it's some pretty hot, sleazy threesome action, so there's no need to be too picky about the details.

3. Hudson Leick in "Denial"

This may not be the most spirited banging or simulated banging in the history of mainstream movies, but it is a top contender for that crown. The evil Calisto really gets her head battered against that headboard.

2. Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas in "Basic Instinct"

This film could have qualified  under several sub-categories: best beaver shot, best cunnilingus (deleted scenes) , and most spirited woman-on-top scene. For many people, this film represented the first time they ever saw famous people doing something on screen which looked like real sex.

1. Jane March and Tony Leung in "The Lover"

The picture pretty much says it all. If they aren't actually doing it, they are coming as close as possible.

This is a beautifully filmed movie, with sensuous, lingering sex scenes.
