Overview:
At the end of every year since 1999, the readers of
Uncle Scoopy's Fun House
and related sites have chosen their favorite nude
scenes from the year that just passed.
This poll marks the second time that the poll has been
extended into the past for the years prior to the "live
poll" era.
This was the first time that we have ever done the poll
in two stages. We originally started with 62
performances (and there could have been many more
because 1997 was a spectacular year for nude scenes),
but the voting was utterly lopsided. At one point it
appeared that Heather Graham would join Katie Holmes
(The Gift, 2000) in the exclusive club of getting more
votes in an annual poll than everyone else added
together. She did finally drop below 50%, but still had
more than three times as many votes as the nearest
competitor.
That fact made it difficult to rank everyone else,
because there were not enough non-Heather votes to start
to differentiate the others. Given that fact, I ran a
second ballot, eliminating Heather, and retaining only
those scenes which received more than two votes in the
first poll. I used the second poll to rank numbers 2
through 20, using the first poll as a tiebreaker.

Although Heather could not join Katie Holmes in the 50%
club, her first place finish vaulted her into another
club that had previously been occupied by just one
person: Heather retroactively joined Christina Ricci in
the two-time winners club.
What made Heather's runaway victory so impressive is
that she was competing against some of the best nude
scenes in history, and some of the biggest stars in the
entertainment industry: full-frontal nudity from
superstar Charlize Theron, the breasts of the eternally
popular Jennifer Connelly, topless scenes from
superstars J-Lo and Penelope Cruz, Jaime Pressly in
Poison Ivy 3, Kate Winslet's beautifully photographed
pose in Titanic, Helena Bonham Carter's explicit
exposure in The Wings of the Dove, curvy Patricia
Arquette in Lost Highway, and many more. (See the voting

1997 was also the year of pairs. There were nude scenes
from two Arquette sisters and two Graham sisters. Sheryl
Lee had a pair of nominations, as did Natasha Gregson
Wagner and Andrea Thompson. There were two great nude
scenes in The Devils Advocate (numbers 3 and 5 on our
list), and there were two great nude scenes in Boogie
Nights (numbers 1 and 13 on the list). Several other
films also contributed dual entries onto the poll: Lost
Highway; Going All The Way; This World, Then The
Fireworks; The Corporate Ladder; Habitat; and Metroland.
A TV series called The Hunger contributed two pairs: a
couple of frontal nude scenes, and a couple of beautiful
topless scenes.
